8.08 Safari Quest Six—Mammals

Time to Reflect

Like all classes of animals, mammals are very diverse. The marine dolphin, the tiny rodent, and the large elephant are very different in appearance, but they're all mammals. Two common characteristics of all mammals are that they have hair and they produce milk in mammary glands to feed their young. The word mammal actually comes from mammary gland. Mammals are also very smart. Primates, apes, chimps, monkeys, and of course humans are perhaps the most intelligent of all animals. With a complex nervous system, humans unlike any other mammal are capable of extraordinarily complex learning. Among all animals we are unique.

The time to say goodbye will soon be here, but before you leave my country there is one final quest that you must take part in, so finish up and move along.
