6.03 Transmission and Treatment

AAACHU! All this talk about bacteria and viruses..I hope I’m not getting sick! I’m going to take the day to rest just in case. I have some things to look over so  I’ve invited doc to join us and tell us all about what we can do if we do get sick. Doc has been watching out for our family for years! Remember what he says goes for the animals on the ranch too!

In this activity, you will:

  • describe how bacteria and viruses are spread
  • describe possible treatments
  • discover some ways to avoid getting sick

The Honors student will:

  • investigate the bacterial disease typhoid and its spread by examining an event in history

Let’s take a closer look at what could be going on with Tracy.  Before we do, let's learn a bit about what happens in your body when you are exposed to a bacteria or a virus. The system in our body that is responsible for fighting off these bad guys is called the immune system. Visit the Kids Health Immune Guide to learn the basics about how your immune system responds to an attack by a foreign invader.

Let’s move to the BioVenture tab to learn more about bacteria and viruses.
