Away from Your Computer

Time to take some action, away from the computer! Get up, stretch your legs and mind a bit, and go on a data finding scavenger hunt.

Your goal is to find and report on a minimum of two data representations from two different sources.

Your sources are numerous:

  • newspapers
  • commercials
  • weather programs
  • news programs
  • magazines
  • posters in stores, doctor's offices, or dentist offices
  • any other place that data of some sort is displayed in a "pictorial" representation of some type

What you are looking for:

Graphs, tables, charts, informative/labeled diagrams, anything that shows data in an easy-to-read format like you studied in this lesson.

How many do you need to find? Two

What do you do when you find the two data displays?

  1. Open the Investigating Data page and save it as an .rtf file.
  2. Complete the activity as directed on the page.

When you have finished the Investigating Data activity, move on to the Travel Log to complete the tour activity.
