Organisms in the Animal Kingdom can range from the simple sea sponge to the complex human. You might not think you have a lot in common with a sea sponge, but you really do!

All animals have the following characteristics:

multicellular
eukaryotic cells
have cells with no cell walls
heterotrophic
classified as either invertebrates or vertebrates
