Genes can be altered by nature or by scientists. It is important to be educated about the use of genetics to alter plants and animals because it can directly affect your daily life. Sometime small changes in an organism can have a LARGE impact on the environment and the life around it. It will always be important to do your homework when it comes to altering genes. The field of genetics is very large and covers areas like medicine and food. Chances are you will need to make some decisions in this area one day.

  • Mutations are any change in DNA.
  • Mutations can be harmful or beneficial to organisms.
  • Bacteria can mutate and become stronger than antibiotics.
  • Genetically altered foods can have benefits as well as risk
