The field of Genetics has come a long way; from Gregor Mendel's genetic study of pea plants to a billion dollar industry. From manipulating cell DNA; to find cures for genetic disorders, to breeding plants and animals with special traits, genetics is BIG business. It is important to have a basic understanding of how genetics works because it affects your life every day. Keep an eye out and you'll see how!
