6.05 Protists: A Wildly Diverse Kingdom

Time to Reflect

The Protist Kingdom is the most diverse of the six kingdoms of living things. These organisms are found in a wide variety of environments. As we found with bacteria, some protists we can't live without, and some are harmful to humans. Some algae-type protists are major oxygen producers for aquatic life. Other algae can release toxins in the ocean and are harmful to fish and humans.
