Time to Reflect

Well it seems that your explorations in this lesson may have led you deep into the world of Science, but you have not unraveled all the mysteries yet!

Tour Debrief

To complete this activity make sure you have:

  • completed a notes page on the characteristics and actions of Scientists
  • explored the answer to the question "What is Science?"
  • thought about the limitations of science

Your First Discussion

In this part of the tour activity you will use the information you learned about Science (in your notes, hopefully) to respond to the discussion prompt below. You can prepare your answers before you go to the discussion area.

Before you go to discussion area, open and print the Guidelines for Discussions document (below). It should help you in participating in this first discussion. Place it in your notebook for future discussions.

Open and print Guidelines for Student Discussions.

How to Participate in a Discussion

You have just spent a good bit of time examining some basic information about science. Think about what you have learned.

  1. How does the work of scientists, or science in general, affect your life today? Why is it important.
  2. Talk to your classmates about their responses. Agree or disagree, add to what they may have said, but respond. Again, use information from the lesson to support your responses.

If you have completed the discussion you are ready to submit your Travel Log report.
