Fungus Kingdom

Fungus Kingdom is a group of organisms that are decomposers. They have a special cell wall made out of a sugar called chitin. Yeast is a special fungus because it is the only one in the kingdom that has one cell. All other fungi have many cells. Mushrooms, athlete's foot and molds, like those seen below, are examples of fungi.

Fungus had the following characteristics:

Different collored patches of mold on a white wall. Structure: Multi-cellular (except for yeast)
Cell Type: Eukaryotes (with a cell wall made up of chitin)
Energy Requirements: Heterotroph
