Amniotic Eggs

Amniotic eggs have allowed reptiles to be independent of living in or near water. Let's take a closer look at this special adaptation. The egg is a total life support package. The developing organism (embryo) has all the necessities of life inside the leathery shell. This tough shell helps to protect the organism and keeps it from drying out. Let's examine the egg.
