Ladybugs: Important Background Information

The scientists have helped us out with some background information we would need to determine the phenotypes (in this case we are talking about color) for these lady bugs:

• B is dominant and produces black ladybugs.
• b is recessive and produces red ladybugs.
• Bb is heterozygous and produces red spotted ladybugs (an example of codominant traits where the dominant and recessive trait combine to create a variation of both.)
