The Survey module provides several surveys to aid teachers in making online classes more effective for a specific group of learners. The surveys were chosen by the creator of Moodle for their effectiveness in evaluating online constructivist learning environments.
The two surveys provided are the COLLES (Constructivist On-Line Learning Environment Survey) and the ATTLS (Attitudes to Thinking and Learning Survey). With the COLLES the teacher can assess the students' preferred learning methods and the students'perception of the actual learning environment. Teachers can then compare the results to try to make the "actual" more closely match the "preferred."
