Step 1. Substitute the contents of the parentheses for x.

f (2x-1) = 3(2x-1) - 4

Step 2. Use the Distributive Property.

3?2x + 3?(-1) - 4

Step 3. Simplify.

6x - 3 - 4

6x - 7

f (2x-1) = 6x - 7
